- Feasibility: Worked with a consultant to develop a comprehensive business model including detailed 12 year projections.
- Project development (vineyard): Arranged and directly oversaw establishment and initial management, working with viticulture advisers; attended a viticulture course;
- Project development (winery): Secured planning consent and arranged the conversion of a 17,000 sq ft building to a winery.
- Operational management: Line-managed the winemaker, monitored expenditure and oversaw equipment purchases; helped establish wine-making contracts for third party clients; instigated marketing advice and assisted with the development of branding.
